This is one of those places psychotherapists will ask people to visualize in order to get rid of mental agitation! But the great difference is that it’s a real spot in the Andes! Here’s the Lake Titicaca packing list for a quite amazing experience!

Lake Titicaca Packing List – 2 Days Tour

Clothing: cap or sun hat, wool hood, sunglasses, scarf, gloves, warm garments (shirts, jacket, pant, socks), running shoes. One very helpful advice is to layer up your clothes, for complete comfort. Also a warm pajama for you will spend night 1 at Amantani island. Suitable backpack. If you’re coming on rainy season (November to March), please bring a showerproof jacket or rain poncho.

Food and Drink: on day 1, lunch and dinner are included. On day 2, we’ll give you breakfast and lunch. So we recommend bringing some snacks for the morning and afternoon of day 1 because on day 2 after lunch you will be back at the hotel a little after 3.30 pm. The snacks can be fruits, energy bars, chocolates, crackers, sandwiches and so on. Bottled water is a must, it helps on many levels. Finally, we always suggest bringing some coca leaves tea for it is great for boosting your energy at these altitudes where oxygen is scarce. (Due to our policy of disposable plastic ban, please bring only reusable food and liquid containers).

Health and Hygiene: a sunblock is mandatory, perhaps some altitude pills (only after consulting your doctor), antibacterial hand gel (before eating). Now for personal care: soap, shampoo, comb, small towel, toothpaste and toothbrush, toilet paper, some towel paper. Finally some small biodegradable or reusable plastic bags for disposals, because we totally adhere to policies of environmental conservation .

Electronics: of course your photographic camera (with an extra battery because there is no electricity on the islands), fully charged smartphone. It is becoming more usual people bringing portable solar panels for energy supply, you may want to include it in the Lake Titicaca packing list.

Additional in your packing list: never forget to take your passport. Bring extra cash for you may be interested in buying amazing typical products that the people of the islands sell, like textiles and pottery. You’ll find very useful our article about suggestions for the Lake Titicaca 2-Day tour.

Tips for Night 1 at the Amantani Island

We have a special treat for our travelers on night 1: dinner with a local family (included) and a typical Andean party afterwards. Incidentally, for a complete notion of this adventure, check the Lake Titicaca with home stay – 2 days itinerary.

For this dinner and the following party, you may bring a favorite wine or some beer, but remember on the next day there is the visit to Taquile island for hiking and exploring, so you won’t like at all to have a hangover and besides, much drinking is not allowed, neither is smoking in closed areas or use of any stimulants, these are all illegal in Peru. Just for precaution bring some medicines for digestion like Bismutol or Alka-seltzer in order to guarantee you will be 100% ok for day 2, always asking your doctor first.

TOUR IN PERU is a socially concerned company and for this reason we suggest our dear travelers to consider making a donation for the indigenous people of this island. It can be food, school items like notebooks or even an amount in cash. You can be sure this will be of great help for them.

The Lake Titicaca 2-day tour can be the perfect addition to any of our Machu Picchu packages (for example, the fantastic Machu Picchu by train plus Huayna Picchu hike – 2 days) or the Inca Trails, like the Classic 4-Day Inca Trail or the 5-Day Salkantay Trek. The lake and its wonderful islands are becoming a favorite destination in Peru for many visitors both national and foreign!

Lastly, we hope this Lake Titicaca packing list for the 2-day tour to be totally useful indeed! Please contact our travel staff for any additional information or quotation and book a vacation that will make your dreams come true!
