Choquequirao Trek: Packing for High -Dry- Season
Here in the Cusco region, when we speak about high or dry season, we mean the time between April until late October, when we don’t have any rain. Weather can be very cold though. So, the Choquequirao trek is much easier and comfortable (although some explorers will still prefer rainy weather for the added adventure…).
Therefore, this first part will cover the packing list for the 4 days Choquequirao trek in dry season.
- Sun hat or cap
- Sunglasses
- Scarf for cold, windy areas
- Gloves (the Choquequirao trek has some cold sections)
- Polyester t-shirts (they dry quickly, don’t stick to the body)
- A couple of sport sweaters, just in case
- Windproof, thick hiking jacket
- Nylon pants, better if convertible to shorts
- Socks good for hiking
- Important: trekking boots, better if they are a little worn out, to avoid blistering of the feet
- For sleeping at the campsite: we suggest packing a warm hood and warm pajamas
